LEDC- Less Economically developed country



The MEDC's Got Money with them and are Developed






Whereas the LEDC's are out of Money and Development

Death rate
low due to good health
 high due to poor health care and a wide  spread disease
Natural Increase
 Low (below 1%) 
 high (2-3.5% or more)
Infant morality
 very few children die before  the age of five in medc's
A high proportion of children die before the age of 5 in ledc's due to poor health care. About 35,000 babies die everyday  ledc's due to poor health and lack of food
People per doctor
A majority of people in medc's have access to doctor
few people in ledc's have access to doctors unless they are wealthy 
Housing
housing in medc's is adequate for a majority of people .Most people have access to clean running water  
Housing in ledc's is often inadequate with no access to clean water or electricity. Shanty towns are large areas which develop in ledc's and consist of poorly built properties
Literacy
literacy rates in MEDC's are high because majority of children have access to free education

literacy rates in LEDC's are low because people cannot afford to send their children to schools due to a lack of teachers

GNP
The rich MEDC's (with a GNP over US$10,000) are in the continents of North America, Europe and Australasia. Japan in Asia is also in this group
The poorest LEDC’s (with GNP's under US$1250) are mainly in the continents of Africa and Asia.
